In addition to their pension files, many soldiers in the War of 1812 also had bounty land files. Even if they didn’t actually relocate to their bounty land, there would still be paperwork associated with it.  These applications can have genealogical information, such as the name of the widow, marriage information, current and former residences, etc.

If you find your ancestor in that list, either send the URL a screen shot of the entry, or the information on the entry, to ensure that we are searching for the correct soldier.

  • You will receive full color images of the records, delivered electronically.  
  • Please allow for 4-6 weeks at the most for delivery, but in many cases it will be shorter than that.
  • Please ensure that you are submitting the correct details about the file you want.  We can't be responsible if you submit incorrect information.  If you're not sure if your 1812 ancestor has an application on file, contact us here and we can help you find him.
