Federal Land Records

Do you have an ancestor who uprooted and settled west of the Mississippi?  There's a chance they acquired federal land.  These federal land records are another often overlooked record group that can shed new light on your ancestors' lives.   If you find your ancestor in this index (https://glorecords.blm.gov/search/), there is a file on the transaction available at the National Archives.

Note: This file is not the same as the scanned patent image that is already available online.  There is more available at the National Archives that is not scanned online.

We can only access the land files that are in the Bureau of Land Management index.

Details & Terms

• You will receive full color images of the records, delivered electronically.
• We average about three to four weeks on most orders, but please allow up to eight weeks, just in case.
• Please be sure you submit the correct details.  We're not responsible if you order the wrong file.
• Land files larger than 40 pages may be subject to an additional charge
• Land from the Harrison Land Act require extra time to locate the documents, and many of those are missing, even though they are in the index online.  Because of the time required to track these down, they are non refundable, even if no file is found.
